AbelsonTaylor Group Employee Culture Initiatives Recognized With Two Prestigious WorkLife Awards for Onboarding and Wellness
Health and wellness advertising agency AbelsonTaylor Group has received two prestigious WorkLife Awards – Best Onboarding Process, recognizing AT Group’s innovative program that seamlessly integrates new hires into the agency; and Best Wellness Program, recognizing the agency’s comprehensive employee wellness initiative which prioritizes staff’s health and well-being.
The WorkLife Awards, sponsored by Digiday Media, recognize top employers in digital marketing and media around the globe and the values that make them unique. WorkLife Award winners were selected based on excellence in fostering a growth mindset and providing employees with opportunities for continuous learning and creativity while prioritizing employees’ mental and physical well-being.
“AbelsonTaylor Group is dedicated to ensuring every employee thrives personally and professionally which yields the best strategic and creative ideas and Return on Imagination for our clients,” said AbelsonTaylor Group President Jeff Berg. “These awards highlight our leadership in the healthcare agency marketing arena for making employees feel valued and supported, both individually and as a part of a team.”
AbelsonTaylor Group’s onboarding program ensures new employees start confidently and with a feeling of inclusion. The onboarding program spans weeks, beginning prior to their start date with one-on-one talks with CEO Dale Taylor and the hiring manager. Onboarding includes a week of daily sessions to get acquainted with agency practices and processes, followed by personalized team gatherings during New Hire Week, hosted at AbelsonTaylor Group’s Chicago headquarters. Beyond the initial orientation, new staff are paired with a buddy in another department to promote cross-functional networking, and all employees are entitled to 50 hours of dedicated professional training time.
The agency’s internal research indicates that virtually all new hires (96%) view their onboarding experience favorably and a similar amount (97%) report feeling confident in their ability to perform successfully in their new roles. Company managers report that new hires are fully integrated into their teams and the agency within seven weeks.
Commensurate with AbelsonTaylor Group’s vision to “help the world choose better health,” AT Vitals, AT Group’s robust wellness program, focuses on the physical, emotional, and financial wellness of staff.
The comprehensive wellness program incentivizes employees to practice healthy behaviors. Using an online platform called Vitality, staff engage in a variety of healthy activities to accrue and redeem points to earn gift cards. Employees can also receive a monthly discount on their health insurance premiums by completing an annual biometric screening to assess and improve their overall health.
Across the onboarding and wellness programs, AbelsonTaylor Group’s innovative company-wide Psychological Safety Initiative formally trains all staff to foster a work environment as a sanctuary of inclusion and an incubator of innovation. Internal surveys reveal an exceptionally positive psychological safety score (4 out of 5) and the vast majority (89%) of staff feel they work productively in the current environment.
