AbelsonTaylor Wins Top Philanthropic Award
Who says you have to submit to win awards? Unbeknownst to AbelsonTaylor, four of its creative projects won national recognition from DTC Perspectives, the leading conference, training and publishing company for direct-to-consumer (DTC) marketing. The announcement was made at the 15th Annual DTC National Advertising Awards, held in conjunction with the DTC National Conference in Washington DC.
“Developing powerful creative for prescription products in the consumer market is not easy because creativity can be hampered by the regulated environment we live in,” said Stephen Neale, EVP and executive creative director for AbelsonTaylor. “So those that rise to the top and win creative awards demonstrate what creativity truly means.”
DTC Perspectives assigned a panel of independent experts to select the winning work across 10 major categories with subcategories defined by therapeutic condition in television, print, digital media and website. AbelsonTaylor was selected as category winners for Best Branded Consumer Print Ad for Skin Care; Best Branded Website; Best Digital; and Best Branded Consumer Print Ad for Psoriasis.
- The Best Branded Consumer Print Ad for Skin Care is for a new form of acne therapy. The focus of the ad was to dramatize how self-conscious acne sufferers sometimes feel. Using an iconic hand mirror to take the place of people’s heads, the campaign called “Mirror Image” reached consumers in a memorable and relatable way. The print ad was one of several tactics that included a website, which won the Best Branded Website award, and a DTC television spot.
- The Best Digital award focused on a unique app designed to remind physicians of the unique struggle patients with HIV often feel during their treatment journey. The app, which included powerful testimonials from HIV patients, has already won multiple creative and digital awards in the pharmaceutical industry. This recognition by DTC Perspectives signifies the importance of aligning physician communications with consumer needs.
- The Best Branded Consumer Print Ad for Psoriasis has been doled to an ad that focuses on a biologic therapy for psoriatic arthritis. As with the “Mirror Image” ad, this was one of several tactics that the agency executed for the brand.
For 15 years, the DTC National Advertising Awards has been recognizing creativity and its effectiveness in consumer promotions.
