AbelsonTaylor recognized with Humanitarian Award
Chicago agency AbelsonTaylor was honored with a Humanitarian Award for its comprehensive corporate social responsibility program. The award was given by Healthcare Marketers Exchange (HME), a publication that provides a forum for the exchange of goods, services and information among healthcare marketers. The agency was selected because of its dedication and commitment to helping those in need across multiple charitable organizations.
“[AbelsonTaylor]…doesn’t focus on just one or two things,” according to one of the judges from HME. “They seem to focus on something new on a monthly basis, which is very hard to do in this business. They do a really good job of getting employees engaged and their culture of giving is very impressive.”
“AbelsonTaylor’s giving-back program is driven through its committee called heartsATwork, which is comprised of employees from different departments and job functions,” said Kristen McGirk, vice president and head of the heartsATwork committee. “We knew that we could have a greater impact if we could combine all our energies and creative juices toward one goal.”
The agency partners with 14 nonprofit organizations on an annual basis, and the majority of them are locally focused, such as Off the Street Club, Urban Initiatives and Youth Outreach Services. According to Dale Taylor, AbelsonTaylor’s president and CEO, “These smaller organizations may struggle to find larger corporate donors, but still provide a valuable service to the community, which is why we collaborate with them. We also partner with larger groups like the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Heifer International so our employees are given different opportunities to participate. Our giving-back program is one of the things people say they really like about our agency.”
